Stock Clerk

Job Description

STOCK CLERK, Department of Operations, will stock and distribute materials and supplies in accordance with inventory control procedures; issue, ship pick up, deliver, and receive all types of stock and equipment; unpack incoming goods, inspect for quality and condition, and repack as appropriate; stock shelves; move stock to secondary storage areas when necessary; work the stockroom counter and issue tools and materials as requested; maintain stockroom and keep areas in orderly condition; keep tool loan and stock records up-to-date and report to supervisor if tools or stock are not returned; engrave/mark tools and equipment and inspect and test items that are loaned to workers; cut pipe and other material to length; generate receiving reports and code and process packing slips and receipts; interact with carriers/delivery vendors; control access to stockroom areas and report any unusual occurrences to supervisor; and record and monitor material being returned to vendors or sent out for repairs.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: Driver’s License; High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of one year of applicable work experience; knowledge of stockroom materials; ability to identify materials and understand stockroom procedures; ability to use power tools such as band saws and bolt cutters; ability to lift 50 pounds and load and unload trucks; ability to walk, stand and work while bending, kneeling and stooping for extended periods; ability to climb stair and work from ladders; sufficient language/communication skills to communicate with supervisor, colleagues and customers and be able to read and understand written directions, safety signage and other documents. May utilize pallet jack to move stock. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn as required by the specific assignment. Job #24590
